To get the most out of your Raptor Awards Course we highly recommend the following text books and instructional DVDs. These are the texts referred to in the lessons, and they are the reference books we turn to time and again.
There are many books on birds of prey on the market that we do not endorse, but the ones listed below should form the basis of your personal library.
{Note: We receive no commission or other inducement to recommend these books Raptor Awards is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. Thank you for your support}

Web-based resources:
There are very few web-based resources that we are prepared to recommend. Sadly, because Facebook is a free-for-all where anyone can post videos, we do find bad or even dangerous advice being given out by self-styled experts.
It is impossible for us to review all web-based and social media posts.
We can point you to these resources that we are prepared to endorse. If we find others we will add them to the list.
The Modern Apprentice -web site
This is a web site aimed firmly at the USA, where access to birds of prey and falconry education is handled differently to the UK. However, the site gives extensive and reliable advice.

Mercer Falconry
Dan Mercer is an approved Raptor Awards instructor and assessor. He has worked for some of the UK’s best falconers, including Jemima Parry-Jones the UK’s ‘Queen of falconry’.
Dan is working with us to provide additional video material for our candidates and we have no hesitation in recommending his series of YouTube videos as being a reliable source of information.
