The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 ….
were introduced in 2018 with most first time inspections taking place in 2019.
This means that many commercial Falconers will have their first re-inspection visit during 2022. We know that inspections this time around are likely to be tougher, and we have already had reports of failed inspections due to lack of documented evidence and proof of compliance
There are more than 70 individual items that an Inspector can ask to see on demand, and if they are not satisfied, or if your paperwork is not in order, then you may be refused a licence until deficiencies are made good. This will inevitably lead to a temporary loss of income, lots of extra work for you and possibly a second inspection fee.
Use this simple checklist to ensure that you have everything you need in place before the Inspector calls.
